Job Description
The Predictive Analytics and Cost Engineering (PACE) team is a data science team that combines technical engineering data and financial data to create early cost estimates for proposals and affordability analyses of both architecture studies and program execution. The team also collects cost data and normalizes it to a standard work breakdown to both record internally and report externally. This team works closely with Engineering and Technology (E&T), Finance and Business Operations (F&BO), Strategy and Business Development (S&BD), Program/Proposal Management and Leads, and external customers.
The role may include working on affordability analysis, life cycle cost developments, cost data analytics, forecasting cost and schedule, data collection and normalization, and design to cost. The candidate selected will be asked to analyze multiple data sets to build engineering models, synthesize results, perform decision analysis, and communicate findings with engineering colleagues and internal decision makers.
Responsibilities:
• Coordination with Engineering, Business Development, Program Finance, Estimating, Proposal Management, and Independent Cost Estimating (ICE) around cost estimates
• Presentation of briefings to colleagues, senior staff, and executives
• Development of parametric cost estimates for proposal efforts
• Normalization of cost and technical data
• Available to answer questions around cost estimates
• Possible development of tools leveraged by the team
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Math, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, or related field or experience equivalent and combined education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with an executive audience
• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and balance multiple tasks at once
• Comfortable navigating technical and cost data
• High degree of accountability and responsibility with the ability to be a self-starter and problem solver
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with one or more of the following: cost model development, data analytics, engineering related to the space industry, and/or finance
Desired skills
• Clearance at TS/SCI or DoD TS desired
• Experience with Python, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), MS SQL, and/or Tableau
• Experience working with cost models, predictive analytics, or decision analysis
• Knowledge of financial systems, analysis, statistics, etc
• Experience working within the space systems industry
• Knowledge of data management systems and/or data science
• Ability to communicate technically oriented material to broader team
• Familiarity with proposal development and/or the government acquisition process
• Strong team collaboration and leadership skills

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
