A consumer loan officer assesses applicants' financial information, helps them choose suitable personal loans, mortgages, or auto loans, and guides them through the application process. Key responsibilities include evaluating creditworthiness, analyzing financial documents, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing loan applications, and maintaining member relationships. The role requires strong financial knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a focus on providing the best member service experience possible. The ideal candidate will have Meridianlink (our LOS) experience.
Duties
Evaluate and process loan applications, analyze financial documents, and conduct credit checks to assess a borrower's creditworthiness.
Analyze financial data, credit histories, and other relevant information to assess the overall risk associated with a loan application.
Prepare loan documents , close the loan and ensure all loan files are complete and compliant with lending regulations and internal policies.
Accuracy in reviewing documents, processing applications, and maintaining records is vital for compliance and risk management.
Provide excellent member support throughout the loan process, answer inquiries, and resolve any issues or complaints.
A strong understanding of financial products, lending regulations, and financial market trends would be helpful.
Skills
Proven experience in financial sales, with a strong focus on member service/.
Excellent communication skills is a must.
Strong understanding of credit analysis and risk ratios.
Previous experience as a Loan Officer is a plus.
Knowledge on the Meridianlink LOS is highly desirable.
