Full job description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs the food service functions to ensure all orders are being cooked and presented correctly, following all food-safe guidelines and procedures
Must be familiar with all menu items, preparation and service procedure
Preparing meals according to recipes and quality standards, as well as proper plating presentation and garnishing set for all dishes
Managing food safety, responsible for rotating products according to "First In, First Out" to maintain shelf-life standards
Responsible for following all specifications to properly and efficiently prepare all food items in high quality, taste, presentation, including accommodation of special requests from guests
Inspects and ensures that kitchen equipment is maintained and operated according to safety procedures and operating manual
Responsible for restocking food supplies to avoid shortage; orders, receives, checks, and stores foods and kitchen supplies; provides food inventory information to Head Chef
Responsible for all necessary cleaning duties, pre and post shift, for each shift worked
SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
Recent graduate or enrolled in culinary school considered an asset
Minimum 3 years related experience as a cook preferred
Food Handling and Health Safety training considered an asset
Strong knife skills and use of kitchen equipment
Must have a positive attitude and a passion for food
Strong verbal communication
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment
Attention to detail
Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism (i.e. punctuality, commitment to the job, well-groomed, etc.)
Works well independently as well as in a team environment
