Job Description

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Current NC Licensed Practical Nurse license
BCLS certification
If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date
Additional Requirements by Practice Area
ED: ACLS and PALS within three months of employment
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within three months of employment
Level III Nursery & Newborn Nursery: NRP within three months of employment
STABLE within one year of employment date, renewal not required
Pediatrics: PALS within three months of employment date
Birthing Center: ACLS and NRP within three months of employment date
Inpatient Rehabilitation: Quality Indicator credentialing within three months of employment
PACU: ACLS and PALS within three months of employment
Day Surgery: ACLS and PALS within three months of employment
Critical Care Unit: ACLS within three months of employment
Intermediate Care Unit: ACLS within three months of employment
Psychiatry: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within three months of employment and renewed at least bi-annually for the first year and annually thereafter
Heart & Vascular Services: ACLS and PALS within three months of employment
No previous experience required, except as listed below
Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date
Heart & Vascular: six months of cardiac telemetry experience
Critical Care Unit and PACU: six months of cardiac monitoring experience
All other units: Prior work experience in requested practice area
