About the role
Our Legal Services team plays a pivotal part in shaping Christchurch's future, our communities, and the environment. We are seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to represent the Council in Public, Regulatory, and Litigation matters related to legislation such as Building, Health, Dog Control, Food Hygiene, Sale and Supply of Alcohol, Fencing, Drainage, Official Information, Privacy, and Transport.
This role requires the ability to deliver technically robust legal advice and deploy excellent stakeholder skills to assist the Council in achieving its goals and objectives. You will also provide advice, undertake research, and complete opinion work in relation to civil litigation matters, including breach of contract or tort, weather tightness claims, and general commercial, insurance, and construction disputes.
