About the Role

The Legal Counsel role in the Legal PC LH Reinsurance Advisory EMEA team is a legal partner role to the PC LH business units in EMEA, with a strong focus on enabling and successful completion of reinsurance business initiatives as well as on ensuring proper governance and compliance with external and internal requirements. The geographical scope of the role is wide and can encompass any jurisdiction in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

You should therefore bring a validated ability to adapt to different legal systems and cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of legal documents.
• Advise on local regulatory and general legal matters (including research and drafting of legal opinions) and support legal aspects of Compliance matters e.g. Data Protection and Market Conduct.
• Manage legal aspects of projects and strategic initiatives within the EMEA region (e.g. changes in operational footprint).
• Develop templates, policies and processes and participate in projects to improve processes and efficiency.
• Monitor and report on developments and trends in laws and regulations.
• Prepare presentations and legal reports, conduct training.
• Coordinate and optimize engagement and use of outside legal counsel.
