Student Homes Management is a real estate private equity manager focused on student HMOs (House in Multiple Occupation) and co-living opportunities across the UK. Who are we looking for in this Role:
The role is based in London and we are looking for an ambitious and dedicated In-house Solicitor / Licenced Conveyancer / Chartered Legal Executive to join the Legal Department in our dynamic, collaborative environment as we continue on our passionate journey to reinvent the future of co-living. In particular we are seeking:
• Legal and administrative support for the Head of Legal and wider team at Student Homes.
• Assisting on/completing Property transactions of HMO genre relating to freehold, leasehold, residential landlord and tenant matters and general research.
• Coordinate, support and work hand in hand with our external legal advisors and internal teams.
• Advise, perform and execute conveyancing transactions through entire lifecycle to include regularising the HMO position, deeds filing with Data team, and support refinancing process.
• Understanding/advise on processes in regard to litigant tenants and perform pre-action measures.
• Assisting the Head of Legal with Fund compliance and regulatory matters together with administrative ad hoc matters.
• Liaising with agents and external parties in particular our cornerstone managing agent as appropriate
Essential Skills Experience required for this Role
• Relevant qualifications:
• If applying in the capacity of a solicitor, you should have a degree combined with qualifying legal diploma (whether SQE/LPC or otherwise)
• If applying in the capacity of a Chartered Legal Executive, you should hold The CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ)
• If applying in the capacity of a Licenced Conveyancer, you should hold a Level 4 and / or a Level 6 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice or such other recognised CLC qualification.
• Solid background in residential conveyancing and ability to perform all stages of Freehold / Leasehold property transactions.
• Excellent negotiating, drafting, written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in a high-pressured environment and manage priorities with strong time management skills.
Desired Skills Experience that would be nice to have for this Role
• Exposure to/understanding of asset compliance and management for HMO properties including, Article 4 directions.
• Understanding of C3/C4 planning use and permitted development rights and general understanding of planning law relating to HMO’s.
• Comfortable with Excel.

Pay: £40,000.00-£55,000.00 per year (depending on experience)
