Enhance Learning. Inspire Change. Shape the Future.
Full-time, ongoing position at our Hawthorn campus
Academic Level B salary + 17% super and staff benefits

About the Role
Are you a passionate educator ready to make a lasting impact on student success and the future of higher education? We invite you to join our vibrant academic community as a Lecturer (Education Specialist) — a role designed for experienced, forward-thinking educators who are ready to shape the next generation of learning.

This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and innovative teacher with a strong commitment to excellence in education. Recognised for your subject expertise and deep pedagogical knowledge, you’ll play a key role in driving a dynamic, inclusive, and future-focused teaching culture within your discipline and across the University.

You will be working at Swinburne’s School of Design and Architecture in our Department of Communication Design. The applicant will be well-versed in the field of motion design and have a solid understanding of the contemporary motion design industry. Desirable are 3D software skills including character modelling and animation, objects and environment, texturing, and lighting. Experience with game engines such as Unity and Unreal, AI-driven animation and video and render farm development and maintenance would be beneficial. The role is full-time but can also be undertaken part-time if required.

In this role, your focus will be on delivering high-quality, student-centred teaching informed by scholarly practice. You’ll design and implement engaging, inclusive learning experiences that foster deep learning, a sense of belonging, and strong graduate outcomes. You will also take the lead in mentoring peers, supporting curriculum development, and contributing to the enhancement of teaching quality across your discipline.

Beyond the classroom, you’ll build meaningful connections with industry, professional bodies, and community partners to ensure our courses remain relevant, forward-looking, and impactful. You’ll also be encouraged to contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning through publications, presentations, or other academic outputs.

This position sits within the Education Specialist pathway—designed for educators who are passionate about teaching and educational leadership. It offers the opportunity to contribute to institutional innovation while also building strong national and international networks across academia and industry.

If you're ready to influence the future of learning and lead positive change in higher education, we’d love to hear from you.
