Learning & Development Manager
Are you a strategic Learning & Development professional who also loves being hands-on in the delivery and creation of impactful learning experiences?

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Learning & Development Manager to establish and lead the next phase of our learning and capability journey. This is a newly created role, reflecting our strong organisational focus and investment in building capability, leadership, and learning across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the function, influence strategy, and build frameworks, programmes, and systems that will have a lasting impact on our people and business performance.

About the Role
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Learning & Development Manager will lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s learning and capability strategy while remaining closely involved in hands-on programme creation and facilitation.

As a new role within the business, you’ll have the opportunity to build and influence the L&D function from the ground up helping to establish frameworks, systems, and learning approaches that support a high-performing and future-focused workforce.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with practical execution and thrives in environments where they can create, influence, and deliver. This is a group role supporting both New Zealand and Australian businesses so some travel to Australia may be required from time to time.

Key Focus Areas

Building Organisational Capability

Develop and implement the organisation’s learning and development strategy
Build capability and competency frameworks across key business functions
Identify capability gaps and create targeted development solutions
Support leadership development and succession initiatives
Programme Design & Facilitation

Design, build, and continuously improve learning programmes and training content
Create engaging facilitator guides, workshops, e-learning modules, and blended learning solutions
Facilitate leadership, professional, and operational training programmes
Deliver practical, high-quality learning experiences that drive engagement and performance
LMS Ownership & Learning Systems

Lead the ongoing development, optimisation, ongoing ownership of the Learning Management System (LMS)
Improve reporting, compliance tracking, and learning accessibility
Drive engagement and adoption of digital learning tools and systems
Ensure training records and learning data are accurate and meaningful
Stakeholder Engagement

Partner closely with leaders across the business to understand capability needs
Coach and support leaders to build high-performing teams
Build strong relationships across operational and corporate functions
Work with external training providers and industry organisations where required
Skills and Experiences:
What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in Learning & Development with exposure to both strategy and hands-on delivery
Strong facilitation and programme design capability
Experience building capability or competency frameworks
Experience managing or implementing Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Ability to influence and build credibility across all levels of the business
Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or operational environments will be highly regarded
