Mō te tūranga | About the Role
This role specialises in WNZLs Storage and Backup Recovery (BUR) environment including overseeing design, implementation and maintenance of storage solutions and backup systems. Provides guidance and support by mentoring engineers and leading by example solving complex technical problems.

Key responsibilities:

Design, implement and maintain operational storage and backup performance of large-scale Windows and Unix /Linux Server environments in order to meet contractual service levels and agreed Project time frames.
Lead Storage and Backup Project design, implementation and system administration.
Technical oversight across a multiskilled team maintaining WNZL Storage BUR environments.
Responsible for creating document backup strategies and technologies.
Develops implementation of Backup and Restore elements across a broad range of systems including installation, configuration and upgrades.
Provide technical expertise and guidance working closely with technical architects and engineers in all areas of data protection.
Provide L3 support to BAU teams in resolving complex issues, restoring data and performance tuning.
Write and maintain required technical documentation.

Experience troubleshooting complex incidents and problems associated to storage and backup environments and related applications.
Experience maintaining high availability storage sub-systems capacity and configuration and/or maintaining multi-site backup schedules and recovery testing
Strong technical knowledge of physical and virtual servers, operating systems and network infrastructures
Experience of Unix, Linux, Windows and VMWare platforms
Comprehensive and demonstratable Backup and Recovery troubleshooting ability.
Ability to mentor technical staff and 3rd party partners to troubleshoot complex server environments and situations.
