Sentry Event Services is a national provider of professional event security and staffing, with operations spanning the United States and a primary focus along the East Coast. We specialize in delivering high-quality, unarmed event security for concerts, sports, public gatherings, and private functions. We proudly manage operations at EnMarket Arena and Johnny Mercer Theatre in Savannah, Georgia, and are actively hiring a GBPDSA-Certified Instructor to serve as our on-site Event Manager at these locations.
Venue Assignments:
EnMarket Arena – 620 Stiles Ave, Savannah, GA 31415
Johnny Mercer Theatre – 301 W Oglethorpe Ave, Savannah, GA 31401
Position Summary:
This dual-role position is responsible for overseeing all on-site event security operations while providing Georgia Board–approved classroom instruction for new security personnel. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who is also certified to deliver the 24-hour training curriculum required by the Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies (GBPDSA).
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, staff, and manage unarmed security operations for scheduled events
Serve as the primary liaison between venue clients, staff, and Sentry leadership
Supervise on-site security personnel and enforce Sentry protocols
Respond to incidents and manage crowd-related challenges
Conduct post-event reviews and performance evaluations
Training Instructor Duties
Conduct GBPDSA-approved 24-hour classroom training courses
Maintain complete training documentation, including rosters, assessments, and certificates
Ensure all personnel meet licensing and compliance standards before deployment
Mentor new staff and help build a safety-focused, professional team
Requirements:
Active GBPDSA Instructor Certification (Classroom Instruction)
Minimum 4 years of qualifying experience (e.g., security supervision, law enforcement, private investigations, etc.)
At least 3 years of leadership or event management experience
Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills
Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
CPR/First Aid Certification
Experience in large venue or live event environments
Familiarity with emergency response procedures and crowd management best practices
Strong documentation and reporting skills
