This position involves assisting with patient care, managing dental records, and contributing to a positive patient experience.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling, including confirming patient visits and handling cancellations.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
Support orthodontic procedures, if applicable, by preparing materials and assisting during treatments.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered to all patients.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with a strong understanding of medical terminology.
Familiarity with dental software systems such as Epic or Dentrix is preferred.
Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and terminology is advantageous.
Experience in pediatrics is a plus for those working with younger patients.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and appointments.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
