Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and full-scale production. Perform process simulations and modeling using software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar. Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications. Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP studies to ensure safety and compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues, implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency and yield. Collaborate with R&D, operations, and safety teams to ensure seamless project execution and technology transfer. Manage process engineering projects, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Stay updated on the latest advancements in chemical engineering principles, technologies, and regulatory requirements. Mentor and guide junior chemical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Ensure that all processes comply with environmental regulations and sustainability goals. Participate in the commissioning and start-up of new process units. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders. Evaluate and select appropriate materials of construction and equipment for chemical processes. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with a strong focus on design and optimization. Proven experience leading process engineering projects and teams. Expert proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools. In-depth knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, mass transfer, and unit operations. Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and HAZOP methodologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Demonstrated project management skills, including budget and schedule control. Experience with scale-up from bench to commercial production. Familiarity with various chemical manufacturing processes and equipment.
