Responsibilities
A Lead Cashier is responsible for managing front-end operations during their assigned shift, ensuring efficient Customer flow and excellent service at all checkout lanes
This role supervises cashiers, assistants, and baggers, delegating tasks to maintain productivity and service standards
Cashier focuses on shift-level execution, ensuring lanes are properly staffed, wait times are minimized, and all Customer needs are met
This role works closely with the Front End Manager and Assistant Manager, reporting shift performance and any issues requiring follow-up
Manage all front-end operations during assigned shifts
Delegate tasks to cashiers, assistants, and baggers to ensure productivity and service goals are met
Monitor checkout lanes to ensure proper staffing and minimal wait times
Assist with complex or escalated transactions and Customer concerns
Ensure all cash handling and register procedures are followed accurately
Maintain a clean, organized, and Customer-ready front-end environment
Communicate shift performance, staffing notes, and operational updates to the Front End Manager or Assistant Manager
Support training by modeling best practices and reinforcing service standards
Uphold Plum Markets policies, procedures, and safety standards
