The Knox Contracting Group is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team.
This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of projects, lead crews, maintain quality standards, and represent our company professionally on site.
We build high-end custom homes, commercial spaces, medical and dental facilities, renovations, and restoration projects throughout Vancouver Island.
What You'll Do
Lead carpentry/labour crews on residential and commercial projects
Coordinate daily site activities and manage subcontractors as required
Read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
Complete framing, finishing, and general carpentry work to a high standard
Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, clients, and trades
Train and mentor apprentices and junior carpenters
Identify issues before they become problems and help develop solutions
What We're Looking For
Journeyperson Carpenter certification preferred (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience
Proven leadership experience managing crews and projects
Strong understanding of residential and commercial construction practices
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational and communication skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Positive attitude and team-first mentality
