Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing various construction projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines. This is a hands-on role that requires strong carpentry skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials using hand tools, power tools, and equipment
- Install doors, windows, cabinets, countertops, flooring, trim work, and other carpentry components
- Collaborate with project managers to plan project timelines and coordinate with other tradespeople
- Supervise and train carpentry assistants or apprentices
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry
- Proficient in construction painting, blueprint reading, concrete forming, flooring installation, masonry, and other carpentry-related tasks
- Strong knowledge of building materials and their applications
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
