Job description
Insolvency Litigator – 2+ Years | Downtown Toronto | Mid-Sized Firm
We’re working with a respected mid-sized firm in downtown Toronto that’s looking to add a litigation associate with experience (or a strong interest) in insolvency, restructuring, and related commercial disputes.
This is a great opportunity for a lawyer with at least 2 years of solid litigation experience — ideally including exposure to creditor/debtor disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, receiverships, or related matters. You’ll join a team that handles high-value files, works closely with financial institutions, trustees, and corporate clients, and regularly appears before the Commercial List.
What’s in it for you:
• A busy and well-established insolvency commercial litigation practice
• Direct mentorship from experienced partners who are leaders in the space
• Hands-on file work, courtroom experience, and client-facing opportunities early on
• A strong litigation support team and reasonable file volumes
• Competitive compensation and a clear path to growth
What they’re looking for:
• 2–5 years of litigation experience at a reputable firm
• Exposure to (or strong interest in) insolvency, restructuring, or commercial disputes
• Solid research, drafting, and advocacy skills
• Confidence managing files and interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
• A collaborative approach — this is a tight-knit, high-performing team
This firm has a strong reputation among financial institutions and insolvency professionals and offers a more balanced alternative to Bay Street — real work, real mentorship, and a place to build long-term.
