About the role

We have an exciting full-time opportunity in our defendant Health Law team for a Lawyer with up to 3 years’ PAE. This fantastic opportunity will see you working with two highly regarded Partners who are recognised for their expertise by Doyle's Guide, Best Lawyers and the Legal 500. Representing a variety of doctors and health practices, the work covers a wide range of medical defence work, with a particular focus on disciplinary, coronial, hospital inquiries and employment issues.

You will be supported as you learn a wide variety of legal skills, and you can expect some of your day-to-day responsibilities to include:

Assisting in the management of files in a leading defendant Health Law practice
Drafting legal documents and correspondence
Assisting in the preparation of advice to clients and developing opinion and pleading writing skills
Preparing court documents for litigated matters
Attending to directions hearings and chamber summons with early exposure to advocacy
Assisting with preparing matters for trial
Liaising with clients, including assisting in obtaining instructions and at conferences
About you

To be successful in this role, you will be an admitted Lawyer with up to 3 years’ PAE, and a genuine interest in Health Law. If you have litigation experience in criminal law or administrative/public law and a genuine interest and desire to move into health law, we would welcome your application.
