About the Position
We seek a seasoned lawyer to handle the complex task of managing our intellectual property rights globally. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IP law, litigation, and portfolio management, as well as a deep understanding of corporate laws and international IP treaties.
Main Duties:
• Develop and execute comprehensive IP management strategies.
• Protect our brand and manage our IP portfolio.
• Provide expert guidance on IPR documentation and applications.
• Oversee IP cases, collaborate with external law firms, and conduct cost-benefit analyses of IP litigation.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, deal with IP infringement and litigation matters.
Essential Requirements:
• Masters/bachelor's degree in law or equivalent, specialization in IPR.
• 12-15 years of experience in IPR, preferably in a law firm catering to international clients or an in-house team of an IP team.
• Strong understanding of Indian IPR laws and knowledge of international IP treaties.

Job description
BTG Advaya is looking for an associate/ senior associate with 5-7 years experience preferably in a prominent law firm. The vacancy is in the energy and regulatory team of the firm. Prior experience in energy, infrastructure and regulatory is a plus, but not mandatory. However, the candidate must have significant experience in commercial contracting, and preparing advisory notes. A detailed note on the roles and responsibilities is provided below.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Drafting and preparation of all kinds of contracts especially for energy, project and infrastructure including for wind, solar, CI projects.
• Drafting and preparation of letters, notices and correspondences with relevant stakeholders.
• Having up to date knowledge on the sectors.
• Research and follow up on legal points and precedents.
• Preparing legal opinions, advices and synopsis on issues.
• Document management.
Requirement
• Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
• Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, especially with senior leadership.
• Exceptional MS Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Expert-level skills in written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
• Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also be extremely effective while working on independent assignments.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Outward looking, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
• Not staying restricted to what has been assigned only but always looking to add value for process improvement and standardization.
• High Project Management ability and ability to close tasks showing tangible results.
Education and Experience
• Law Degree (LLB/LLM) from a reputed university.
• Experience of 4-7 years in a similar role
