The ideal candidate will adhere to safety guidelines, maintain laboratory equipment, and stay updated with scientific and technical developments.
Responsibilities:
• Sample Management: Collect, receive, label, and analyze samples or substances using the correct testing equipment.
• Laboratory Testing: Design and execute laboratory tests following standard procedures, recording observations, and interpreting findings accurately.
• Data Recording: Record all experimental data and test results in the specified format, both written and electronic.
• Chemical Storage: Organize and store chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
• Safety Adherence: Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times within the laboratory.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly.
• Log Maintenance: Maintain daily logs and equipment record books diligently.
• Supply Management: Order laboratory supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to colleagues and other departments when necessary.
• Stay Updated: Keep up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments to improve laboratory practices.
Requirements:
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience working as a lab technician in a similar setting.
• Licensing: Valid laboratory technician license is required.
• Equipment Handling: Experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment.
• Safety Knowledge: Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances like flammable liquids and biohazards.
• QHSE Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) management systems and preventative measures.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database systems.
• Independence: Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
• Dexterity: Superb dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
