L3 Network Engineer - Job Description
Job Details
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 08–12 Years
Education: BE/BSc/MCA/MSc (Computer Science/IT or equivalent)
Certification: Cisco ACI – 300-620 (DC-ACI) – Mandatory
Primary Responsibilities
· Network Operations & Incident Management Handle escalations from L1 engineers and provide expert-level troubleshooting. Manage daily network operations, including incident reporting, review, and resolution within defined SLAs.
· Configuration & Troubleshooting Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot networking and security devices (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers). Design, implement, and manage SDN solutions for medium to large-scale networks.
· Network Security & Compliance Establish and enforce network security policies. Monitor access and ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.
· Documentation Prepare High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation. Maintain updated network schematics, configuration templates, and SOPs.
· Vendor & Asset Management Coordinate with vendors for device support, maintenance, and upgrades. Manage inventory and ensure accurate asset documentation.
· Performance Reporting & Audits Conduct network equipment testing and maintain audit records. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
· Customer Interaction & Problem Solving Understand customer requirements and provide effective, timely resolutions. Maintain professional communication and ensure customer satisfaction.
Additional Responsibilities
· Network Design & Architecture: Design scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures.
· Performance Optimization: Analyze network performance and implement improvements.
• · Security Management: Manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS within the SDN environment.
Policy Management: Develop and enforce QoS and traffic management policies.
· Collaboration & Leadership: Guide L1/L2 engineers and lead network-related projects.
· Vendor Coordination: Liaise with SDN vendors for support and implementation.
· Compliance & Audits: Maintain detailed documentation and support audit processes.
Technical Skills
· Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI – Certification 300-620 (DC-ACI) is mandatory.
· Strong understanding of SDN, network security, and enterprise networking.
· Experience with network monitoring and performance tools.
Soft Skills
· Self-driven and motivated to achieve success.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
