We are seeking a motivated Junior Service Desk Engineer to join our dynamic IT support team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in a fast-paced environment, providing essential support to end-users and maintaining the organisation’s IT infrastructure. The main focus of the role will be preparing, building and configuring desktops, laptops and other IT equipment for our clicents. Alongside this, the successful candidate will learn the wider helpdesk function including logging tickets, speaking with users, troubleshooting basic issues and supporting senior engineers. The successful candidate will possess a keen interest in computer networking, hardware, and software troubleshooting, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in IT support and systems administration.
Responsibilities
Building and preparing new desktops and laptops
Installing Windows and required business applications
Applying standard company build processes
Joining devices to Microsoft 365, Entra ID or local domains where required
Installing security software, monitoring tools and remote support agents
Applying updates, patches and standard configuration settings
Preparing equipment for delivery or installation at client sites
Recording asset details accurately
Testing devices before they are handed over to clients or users
Wiping, rebuilding and repurposing returned equipment or similar ticketing systems.
Helpdesk, Support and Learning
The role will also including learning how to:
Log and update support tickets
Answer basic helpdesk calls under supervision
Assist users with simple IT issues
Reset passwords and help with account access issues
Troubleshoot basic Microsoft 365 problems
Support printer, Wi-Fi, email and desktop issues
Escalate more complex issues to senior engineers
Follow internal procedures and checklists
Keep clear notes on work completed
Skills and Experience Required;
This is a junior role, so previous MSP experience is not essential.

Pay: £24,785.00-£26,000.00 per year
