Junior Payroll Administrator
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Payroll Administrator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with some payroll experience who is looking to develop their career in payroll administration. Experience using BrightPay is highly desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will assist with the accurate and timely processing of payrolls while gaining valuable experience in UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and pension administration.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with processing weekly and monthly payrolls using BrightPay.
Maintain employee payroll records and update payroll information.
Process starters, leavers, and changes to employee details.
Support payroll submissions to HMRC.
Assist with workplace pension administration and auto-enrolment processes.
Help resolve payroll queries from employees and clients.
Produce payroll reports and carry out basic payroll checks.
Support the team with year-end payroll activities, including P60 preparation.
Ensure payroll information is handled confidentially and accurately.
Essential Requirements
Previous administrative experience, ideally within payroll, finance, or an office environment.
Good attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
A willingness to learn and develop payroll knowledge.
Desirable Requirements
Some experience processing payrolls.
Experience using BrightPay payroll software.
Understanding of UK payroll processes, HMRC requirements, or workplace pensions.
A payroll qualification or a desire to work towards one.

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,500.00 per year
