About Us:
We are a family trust seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Lawyer to assist with ongoing litigation and related legal matters. Our work involves complex trust, property, and family law issues currently before the Calcutta High Court.
Key Responsibilities:
• Represent the trust’s interests in ongoing legal proceedings at the Calcutta High Court and other relevant forums.
• Draft, review, and file necessary legal documents, pleadings, petitions, affidavits, and other court submissions.
• Conduct thorough legal research on trust law, property law, family settlements, and related statutes and precedents.
• Liaise with senior counsel, clients, court clerks, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in strategizing case approaches, including gathering evidence, preparing witness statements, and managing documentation.
• Monitor case progress, maintain case files, and keep the client informed of all developments.
• Provide general legal advice, conduct negotiations, and engage in dispute resolution efforts as required.
Qualifications Experience:
• LL.B. degree from a recognized university and enrollment with the Bar Council of India.
• Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a focus on trust disputes, property matters, and family litigation.
• Proven track record of handling matters before the Calcutta High Court or other High Courts in India.
• In-depth understanding of court procedures, filing systems, and litigation protocols in the Calcutta High Court.
• Experience conducting extensive legal research, drafting legal documents, and managing case documentation.
Skills Attributes:
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Bengali is preferred.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to filing deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Ability to work independently, as well as coordinate and collaborate effectively with senior counsel and other team members.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive family trust matters with discretion and professionalism.
Additional Requirements:
• Availability to attend court hearings, client meetings, and on-site inspections as needed.
• Willingness to commit to the duration of the ongoing litigation and related legal work.
• Strong time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
