Junior Graphic Web Developer
Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, Salsa in Toronto Festival, and working alongside senior members of the IT Team, the successful candidate will support and join a dedicated team of special event professionals to help produce and execute the cultural events in the local community and Hispanic community. In this role, the candidate will provide IT and web design and support for the event website and its social media platforms. The individual will gain direct hands-on experience in a positive and encouraging workplace and will acquire valuable career-related experience in STEM and ICT.
This is an 8 week term position ending no later than August 29, 2026.
Main Responsibilities
Responsible for the design, development, maintenance and promotion of existing web pages
Design creative materials and deliver quality graphic and web elements for our website, ad campaigns, merchandise products, and other materials
Help maintain and improve front-end code; build foundational web components that can be reused and extended
Collaborates with external vendors on special web site projects
Continued improvements to customer UX/UI experience
Work closely with the Digital Marketing team for uploading and editing content
Provide assistance in the reporting of SEO/Social Media KPIs, help to set benchmarks and assist with strategic and tactical analysis
Other duties as required
Required Skills
Excellent skills on Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML or Quark Express
Strong understanding of PC computers, including MAC, Unix and NT
Interested in all aspects of design and a desire to learn is a must
Strong initiative and self-motivated with ability to work both independently and on a team
A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail
Ability to work under the pressures of tight deadlines and multitask
Creative, energetic, self-motivated team player with ability to work both independently and on a team
Strong communication skills with an understanding of the French and or Spanish language is an asset
An enthusiastic, friendly attitude contributing to a friendly respectful workplace
Qualifications
Graphic Design, Web Design or Development Degree (or in progress) and or a minimum 1-year related experience
Be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment
A valid SIN number at the start of employment. Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
