Jr. ACCOUNTANT - perfect for a 4th year accounting student (can be flexible with class schedule)
Calyx Containers exists to solve some of the largest problems facing the budding ******** industry: packaging and inventory management. Rooted in the ******** industry, our passion is transforming how people transport, brand, and consume the products they love. We’ve developed a suite of packaging products for flower, concentrates, joints, in addition to a modular tray system designed to standardize the transportation and reconciliation process. We’ve made it easier for industries requiring child-resistant packaging to be compliant in a unique and modern way.

The Financial Accountant is a key member of the accounting team and prepares and maintains financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. S/he works collaboratively with other members of the Finance team and all company team members to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization
• Maintain the general ledger
• Code invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
• Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections
• Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies not do this
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-3 years of experience in like position
• Knowledge of general financial accounting
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Netsuite/ERP experience strongly preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills
• Strong attention to details and highly organized
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
