The Opportunity
The ACIC protects Australia from serious criminal threats by collecting, assessing and disseminating intelligence and policing information. We play a pivotal role in developing and delivering the intelligence, insights, and partnerships that underpin the nation’s ability to prevent, detect, and disrupt serious and organised crime.
With a strong focus on building productive partnerships, we work collaboratively with law enforcement partners, the National Intelligence Community, regulators and policy agencies, to deliver a diverse suite of criminal intelligence products, services, analysis and advice.
Reporting to the CEO, the Deputy CEO Intelligence’s responsibilities cover the breadth of the ACIC’s operational, analytical, and assessment activities to:
enhance the national picture of serious and organised crime impacting Australia
ensure high value intelligence products are provided for partners
develop intelligence capability for the ACIC and its partners
inform and develop the capability of our people, processes and systems.
Role responsibilities
As Deputy CEO Intelligence, you will:
Provide visionary leadership and exercise delegated powers and functions from the CEO to advance the ACIC’s strategic objectives and adapt the organisation for the future
Lead and empower teams to deliver outcomes in a dynamic, high-stakes environment – driving clarity, accountability and alignment across intelligence and operational priorities
Guide the organisation through complex regulatory, enforcement and compliance challenges, ensuring risk is proactively managed across financial, reputation and safety dimensions
Champion cultural and organisational transformation, inspiring confidence and commitment while fostering collaboration across all levels of the agency
Strengthen strategic partnerships across the public, private, law enforcement and intelligence sectors to build trust, innovation, and an enduring and sustainable operating model
Ensure robust governance frameworks are in place and operating effectively to promote transparency, integrity and performance excellence
Chair and actively contribute to operational governance committees, driving progress against key organisational objectives and enabling continuous improvement.

Eligibility
Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
Pre-Employment Screening – All candidates must satisfy an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to being offered employment at the ACIC.
