Position Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Architectural Designer with strong AutoCAD skills and a working knowledge of NYC zoning and building codes. The ideal candidate is comfortable preparing DOB-ready drawing sets, collaborating across teams, and updating plans in response to regulatory and project changes.
Key Responsibilities
Draft full architectural drawing sets using AutoCAD: plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, details
Revise existing drawings per agency objections, redlines, or project updates
Collaborate with architects, expeditors, and project managers to develop code-compliant filing sets
Interpret zoning analyses and translate field or survey info into accurate drawing updates
Organize and maintain drawing files and project documentation in accordance with office standards
Qualifications
Degree in Architecture (B.Arch or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years of NYC-based architectural drafting experience
Strong knowledge of NYC Building Code and Zoning Resolution
Familiarity with commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); Adobe Creative Suite a plus
Ability to read, interpret, and draft from markups, sketches, and technical specifications
Highly organized, detail-focused, and responsive to deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $50,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Bonus Eligibility: Performance-based bonus opportunities
Benefits: Medical, paid time off, and hybrid remote schedule (after 90 days)
Professional Development: Training, mentorship, and continued learning encouraged
Must be eligible to work in the United States. No work visa sponsorship.
