Responsibilities


Lead test fits and feasibility studies for new construction, expansions, and vertical additions, incorporating architectural and structural considerations
Analyze and interpret NYC Zoning Resolution, NYC Construction Codes, and land use regulations to assess development potential
Conduct site visits and field observations, prepare detailed reports and recommendations
Present findings and design studies to internal stakeholder committees and leadership teams
Provide architectural expertise to support Real Estate, Legal, and Capital Planning teams during negotiations with developers
Participate in pre-design and coordination meetings for mixed-use and public-sector projects
Perform design and scope reviews for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and capacity-related projects at all design phases
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, contractors, vendors, and government agencies
Assist in the development of design standards, guidelines, and internal procedures
Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications


Minimum 5+ years of experience in architectural design, drafting, and project coordination
NYS Registered Architect License is preferred
Experience working on public sector education, infrastructure projects is preferred
Strong working knowledge of NYC Zoning Resolution and NYC Construction Codes
Proven experience producing and reviewing plans, sections, and technical drawings in AutoCAD
Technical expertise with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Office
Experience with feasibility studies, test fits, and early-stage planning preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
