Paraprofessional – Special Education
Location: Emerson Public Schools, Emerson, NJ
Job Type: Part-Time
About Us:
Emerson Public Schools is a student-centered district dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated paraprofessionals to work with students with special needs in both ABA classrooms and general education settings.
Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support to students with special needs, reinforcing instructional material and assisting with individualized learning plans.
Assist in behavior management and implement strategies aligned with student IEPs.
Support students in social, emotional, and academic growth under the guidance of teachers and specialists.
Foster independence in students while ensuring a safe and positive classroom environment.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student success.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or 60 college credits preferred.
Experience working with children, particularly in an educational or special education setting, is a plus.
Patience, adaptability, and a passion for working with students.
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with a supportive team.
