Role Description
Being a hands-on professional, you will be responsible for driving the design and implementation of the Business-Critical Deliverables as defined by the platforms. Deliverables will range from the introduction of new functionality to support new products and processes, support of mandatory regulatory and reporting requirements, or Level 3 post-release support for the applications in scope.
You will work closely with the global analysis and development teams to a) help design and implement solutions that are in alignment with strategic enterprise architecture roadmaps b) recognize and take advantage of opportunities to refactor legacy components of the application c) perform brief pilots and proofs of concept to help establish solution feasibility. You may be required to manage a team of direct reports who drive implementation of solutions.
The individual will be involved in projects working with multiple product areas to gather business requirements and propose solutions in order to help the business enhance its Listed Derivatives trade processing, allocations, and clearing platforms, and will be responsible for identifying, designing, developing, and implementing strategic solutions within Deutsche Bank’s Global Technology organization.

Your key responsibilities
• Role of a technical expert and a lead software developer for the Listed Derivatives Clearing application(s) in scope.
• Full technical ownership of platforms scalability and stability
• Lead and supervise a team of junior engineers, if applicable.
• Provide SME input into Software Development and/or Application Support
• Management of technical projects, if applicable.
Your skills and experience
Essential Skills:
• 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications.
• 3+ years of experience in a financial markets IT environment.
• Ability to focus and prioritize in a high-pressure environment
• Analytical skills with attention to detail
• Be self-directed, pro-active, results-driven and able to work in a diverse global team
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Time management and ability to balance priorities in a changing environment.
• Ability to maintain sound business relationships and build trust between stakeholders.
• Team player who is conscious of cultural differences and able to work as part of a globally distributed team.
• Understanding of a secure and controlled environment for IT systems and processes.
• Knowledge of writing modular testable code and integration with automated testing tools.
• Technical Knowledge 1: Programming - Java, J2EE, Spring, SQL/ORACLE, Apache Ignite.
• Technical Knowledge 2: Messaging technologies - JMS, MQ, Tibco EMS.
• Technical Knowledge 3: UNIX scripting - Perl, shell, bash.
• Technical Knowledge 4: Monitoring – Geneos, logging, alerting, dashboards.
Preferable Skills:
• Understanding of the Exchange Traded Derivatives business.
• Understanding of Clearing, role of Clearing Houses, and previous experience with vendor platforms – ClearVision and GMI.
• Previous experience in DevOps environment.
• Project management skills
• Experience gathering basic performance measures of applications
• Understanding of garbage and resource management
• Technical Knowledge 5: .NET, Flex, Gridgain, Angular, Hazelcast.
• Technical Knowledge 6: FIX, XML, FIXML, XPATH.
Experience managing diverse group of stakeholders, including business, operations and technology at different levels of the organization:
• Ability to commit and prioritize work duties and tasks
• Proven communication skills / Fluent in English (written/verbal)
• Optionally have experience in Post Trade world in derivatives.
