Technical Skills

Java 8 + Streams, Futures, Executors etc

Microservices patterns and best practices (event sourcing, SAGAs etc)

Spring Framework 5.x

SpringBoot (1.x and 2.x)

GoF design patterns

Enterprise Integration Patters patterns and pitfalls

Message based integrations patterns and pitfalls

Clean coding and SOLID principles

Excellent skills in unit testing using mocks

Hibernate & ORMs.

PL SQL (must have) : Understanding of complex queries, data structure

Spring cloud Eureka (must have knowledge) , Hystrix, Feign client, Ribbon, Spring cloud gateway, Spring cloud config svr

Kafka at least basic understanding so that he can build up based on guidance
