Two Intermediate Teaching Position
Start date: September 2st 2025/2026 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Education degree
Must have or be eligible for BC Teacher Certification
Experience working with First Nations students
Good communication skills, self-motivated, compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic;
Ability to manage challenging student behaviors.
Knowledge and experience:
Primary Programs: Read Well, Saxon Math, Acadience Reading
Intermediate programs: Reading Mastery, Six Minute Solution, Jump Math/Math Focus, Corrective Reading, Third Quest
Effective classroom management skills;
Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture;
Effective planning strategies which include lesson plans, unit plans and year plans;
Comprehensive assessment strategies which accommodate First Nations learning styles;
Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies in the classroom;
Experience developing and implementing IEPs;
Willingness to incorporate a variety of teaching methods to motivate and encourage students including the use of traditional knowledge in the outdoors and on the land;
Willingness to participate in local community and cultural events;
Experience using technology and web-based resources in instruction including Smartboards and IPads;
Maintains effective and consistent communication with students and parents to discuss progress and goals
Monitor virtual classrooms during distance/remote learning: student progress, student attendance, student mental health
