GGA-Architecture is one of Western Canada’s largest architecture firms offering services in architecture, interior design and urban design in Western Canada. Working from our head office in Calgary we continue to be involved in some of the most exciting regional projects. Since 1983, we have provided our services to all levels of government, public and private school boards, post-secondary institutions, corporations and many private development clients.

What you'll be doing
INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER
Reporting
Member of the Design Team
Report to the Team Lead, Interior Design, Managing Director of Design and the Partner in Charge of the project currently engaged on
Assist with mentoring Junior staff
Key Responsibilities
Work with the design and architectural technology teams
Project lead for small to medium size interior design projects
Produce sample boards for client presentations
Implement and champion drawing standards and project processes
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff
Taking direction from supervisory team members
Primary point of contact with approving authorities
Primary point of contact with client/project manager
Work on multiple projects at a time
Experience with Microsoft Office, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
Assist with contract administration including shop drawing reviews
Coordinate with consultants, contractors and vendors
Keep current with innovative and forward-thinking design including research on materials
Lead by example in all areas of work
Other design tasks as required

Qualities & Credentials
The chosen candidate must possess
Legally entitled to work in Canada
A professional and energetic attitude
A degree in interior design (BID) from an accredited institution
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for collaboration and teamwork.
Proven problem-solving skills
An ability to work on multiple projects
Effective time management skills and an ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Strong self-motivation and excellent critical thought
Experience with Microsoft Office, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
Knowledge of Alberta Building Codes
Have a solid understanding of current planning theories and best practices
Works well independently and in a collaborative environment
Your portfolio should demonstrate proven design and visualization ability, as well as the design methodology you employ in your design process
