Landscape Construction Lead Hand
Hardscape Ottawa — Ottawa, ON
$25–$35/hr depending on experience and skill
We build high-end outdoor living projects across Ottawa — patios, pools, retaining walls, drainage systems, fire and water features, outdoor kitchens and more.
We’re looking for a Lead Hand who can run equipment, support the foreman, and keep jobs moving efficiently.
This is the role between installer and foreman.
You’re not just pushing a wheelbarrow — you’re helping run the job.
What you'll be doing
You’ll work directly with the foreman and crew to execute projects properly and keep the site running smoothly.
Typical responsibilities include:
Operating skid steers, mini excavators, and compact equipment
Operating trucks and trailers
Assisting with layout, base prep, and installation
Running trucks and moving materials between sites
Keeping the crew productive and organized
Training newer labourers on proper techniques
Solving problems on site
You’re someone the foreman can rely on to make the day run smoothly.
The type of person we’re looking for
You probably already:
Have several years of construction or landscape installation experience
Can operate equipment confidently
Understand proper base prep and grading
Work hard without needing constant direction
Take pride in clean, high-quality work
You’re comfortable being the guy others ask questions to on site.

Our crews focus on quality installations, not rushed volume work.
Projects typically include:
Interlock patios and driveways
Retaining walls
Fiberglass Pools
Artificial turf
Fire Features
Outdoor Kitchens
You’ll be installing work that families will make memories with for the next 30+ years.
Pay & schedule
$25–$35 per hour depending on experience
Full-time seasonal with steady hours
Opportunity to grow into Foreman or Project Lead roles
We run multiple crews across Ottawa, and strong people move up quickly.
Requirements
Experience in landscape construction or similar field
Ability to operate compact equipment
Valid driver's licence (experience driving trucks and trailers is a must) IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE DON'T APPLY
Physically capable of working outdoors daily
Reliable and professional attitude
