Qualifications
Have strong creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills, capacity for conceptual design thinking, and 3D design/modeling ability
Have strong client and time management skills
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or equivalent
5-8 years of design experience designing commercial interior projects
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office suite
The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks
Ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices
Responsibilities
As an Interior Designer at DLR Group, you will be working as part of an integrated design team where you will be responsible for collaborating on the design of projects from pre-design and programming through construction administration on projects ranging in size and complexity
Your role and responsibilities will vary from project-to-project, including, but not limited to, developing comprehensive project palettes of materials and finishes, preparing 3D renderings and presentation drawings, and generating interior finish drawings and details, all the while maintaining an awareness of project scope, schedule, fee, and budget parameters
This role will help support work in our Workplace sector
You will work collaboratively with clients, contractors, vendors, and DLR Group team members to deliver projects
As a valuable team member, you will take on additional responsibility, seek out opportunities for learning and growth, and be personally accountable for your work effort and work product
Prepare and develop with the team, as required, drawings, models, images, material & mood boards, and other documents relating to the design
Take responsibility for the development of the design and the project with input from the Principal in Charge and/or the Design Leader for key project stages
Will gain thorough knowledge of and compliance with DLR Group standards

Location: This role could be located in either our Chicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN studio.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will:

Required Qualifications:

• The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.
• Ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices.

Preferred Qualifications:
• NCARB or NCIDQ certification.
