About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Instructional Assistant at the Alabama Department of Education. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing assistance to instructional programs within assigned classrooms.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide support to teachers and students in various educational settings, including classrooms, field trips, and lunchrooms.
• Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and reinforcing classroom objectives.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Requirements:
• High school graduate or equivalent (GED) and academic competency in basic skills.
• Associate's Degree or completed 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours of study at a regionally accredited institution of higher education, or a passing score on the Alabama State Board of Education WORKKEYS Assessment.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and abilities, including those with special needs.
