Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties

Evaluate training and capability needs of WorkSafe Tasmania’s inspectorates and develop training and development programs for staff members.
Coordinate the delivery of a training and development program, including induction and onboarding, to enhance inspectorate capability consistent with current and emerging risks and strategic and operational plans.
Liaise with external consultants and training professionals to provide specific technical training programs and support in-house training where appropriate.
Provide coaching and mentoring to inspectors in the field to support the embedding of learning.
Monitor improvements in capability and propose solutions to continually improve the building of inspectorate knowledge and capability.
Other duties as directed that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying jobs at this classification level.
Pre-employment Checks

The Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Pre-employment checks

• Arson and fire setting
• Violent crimes and crimes against the person
• Sex-related offences
• Drug and alcohol related offences
• Crimes involving dishonesty
• Crimes involving deception
• Making false declarations
• Malicious damage and destruction to property
• Serious traffic offences
• Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice
• Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power
• Crimes involving Conspiracy

2. Disciplinary action in previous employment.

3. Identification check.

Desirable Requirements

Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, Certificate IV in Government Investigations, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
Ability to travel to different work locations within Tasmania.
