About You

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Plumbing Technician to assemble, test, troubleshoot, and commission the plumbing systems used in our LFC biodigesters. You will work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure every machine meets our quality standards before shipment.

As you become familiar with our products, you will have the opportunity to cross-train in mechanical assembly and broaden your skills by working on gearboxes, motors, drive systems, and complete machine assembly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys learning multiple trades and advancing within a growing manufacturing company.

This is a full-time hourly position.

Work hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with overtime available as required.

Summary TasksPlumbing Assembly

Assemble PVC, stainless steel, and flexible plumbing systems used in LFC biodigesters.
Install valves, fittings, pumps, water lines, drain lines, spray nozzles, and filtration components.
Cut, thread, glue, and assemble piping according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
Ensure proper routing, alignment, and support of plumbing assemblies.
Leak Testing & Commissioning

Perform pressure and leak testing using water.
Troubleshoot plumbing leaks and repair deficiencies.
Verify proper operation of pumps, flow switches, solenoid valves, sensors, and water control systems.
Perform functional testing before shipment.
Mechanical Assembly (Cross Training)

As experience grows, assist with mechanical assembly including:

Install electric motors and gearboxes.
Assemble chain drives, sprockets, bearings, and shafts.
Install mixing drums, augers, and rotating assemblies.
Align motors, gearboxes, and drive systems.
Replace or adjust mechanical components during testing.
Assist with final machine assembly and commissioning.
Learn the complete mechanical operation of the LFC biodigester.
Continuous Improvement

Assist engineering by identifying assembly improvements.
Help develop standard assembly procedures.
Recommend design changes that improve manufacturability and serviceability.
Other

Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with receiving, shipping, crating, and warehouse duties as needed.
Support production in other departments when workload requires.
Skill Requirements

Depending on experience, candidates should possess many of the following skills:

Required

Experience assembling industrial plumbing systems.
Familiarity with PVC, stainless steel, threaded fittings, unions, valves, pumps, and plumbing hardware.
Experience performing pressure and leak testing.
Ability to read plumbing drawings and assembly instructions.
Comfortable using plumbing and mechanical hand tools.
Ability to safely operate drills, saws, grinders, and other power tools.
Preferred (Training Available)

Experience with any of the following is a plus but not required:

Installing electric motors and gearboxes.
Mechanical equipment assembly.
Bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, and shafts.
Pump installation and alignment.
Industrial machinery or automation equipment.
Reading mechanical assembly drawings.
Basic electrical troubleshooting.
Forklift or pallet jack operation.
Complete training will be provided for any skills not already possessed.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 2 years of industrial plumbing, commercial plumbing, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly experience.
Experience with industrial equipment or manufacturing is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn additional assembly skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings and plumbing schematics.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Trade school, plumbing certification, or mechanical training is preferred but not required.
