Department: Logistics Operations


Position Summary:

We are seeking a full-time detail-oriented and bilingual Import Export Specialist to join our growing Logistics Operations team. This individual will play a critical role in managing and facilitating the smooth flow of goods across international borders while ensuring full compliance with U.S. customs laws and global trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the end-to-end process of importing pet food products from Thailand to the U.S. and exporting to Canada, including documentation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding.
Ensure all imports and exports adhere to relevant U.S. and international laws, customs procedures, and trade regulations.
Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian import/export regulations, including FDA, USDA, CFIA, and other relevant standards for pet food products.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance reports.
Communicate effectively with internal departments, external vendors, and government agencies to ensure smooth logistics execution.
Liaise with Thai suppliers to ensure product quality, packaging, and labeling meet U.S. and Canadian regulatory requirements.
Identify and resolve issues that arise during the import/export process, ensuring minimal disruption to supply chain activities.
Negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers to secure optimal shipping rates and terms.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and partners.
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Japanese (required).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in import/export operations. Preferably in food or pet food industry.
Strong understanding of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping documentation.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to analyze and solve problems independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant logistics or ERP software.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to occasionally lift and move products or materials (up to 30 pounds).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including potential travel to warehouses or distribution centers.
