YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Live Our Vision, Values, and Beliefs every day Reports to the Customs Compliance Leader on RH's International Transportation team Troubleshoot to resolve container holds related to customs exams and other clearance delays Support compliance team with HTS classifications and preparing customs paperwork Work with merchants and product development to gain broad understanding of RH furniture & dcor categories and styles Proactively track in-transit shipments to monitor on time delivery using the latest shipment visibility tracking tools Effective use of daily exception reporting to locate shipments at risk of delay and to follow up with resolutions Simultaneously work with multiple network service providers such as ocean carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies Understand a service provider's costs and exercise sound judgment when balancing service with cost. Support global transportation's mission to provide seamless service and demand the same of our service providers RH operates a global network, while a large amount of activity is within US time zones, candidate must be flexible from time to time to address off-hours priorities OUR REQUIREMENTS Exemplify Our Core Values Agility Our business needs adapt to change, and our People need to be flexible The ability to maneuver through common software tools and learn new applications as needed. High comfort level with designing and updating reports in Excel and working with large data sets Attention to detail must be comfortable with data and details, we consume a lot of information we need to act on it and use it correctly. Comprehend issues, understand what causes them, and be part of solution. Resourcefulness not all problems are alike, must be able to navigate various scenarios and prioritize Understands what needs to be done and takes initiative to drive closure on key tasks and open items Persistence the ability to stay focused, to review daily reporting to see things through to completion Communication All of the work we do depends on understanding what our customers need and being able to direct others on what to do. Effective communication is key. Team player it is not about who is right, it's about what is right Prior experience with international logistics providers or especially customs brokerage is preferred
