Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced immigration attorney to assist on a per-case basis with asylum and removal defense matters. This is a flexible, part-time role for an attorney comfortable handling cases before the Immigration Court and federal filings where needed.
Our office handles client intake, initial screening, and administrative coordination. We are looking for an attorney to step in on legal strategy, filings, and court appearances as needed.
Duties
Handle asylum cases from preparation through adjudication
Appear for Master Calendar and Individual Hearings before EOIR
Review and file defensive asylum applications (Form I-589) and supporting evidence
Draft legal briefs, motions, and supporting documentation
Handle or assist with habeas corpus petitions in federal court (as applicable)
Advise on deportation defense strategy and case posture
Requirements
Licensed attorney in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction
Demonstrated experience with asylum and removal defense cases
Comfortable appearing in Immigration Court (EOIR)
Experience with motions practice and legal writing
Familiarity with federal court filings (habeas petitions preferred but not required)
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Compensation:
Compensation is provided on a per-case basis and varies depending on the scope and complexity of each matter.
