HVAC Technician

PHOENIX ELECTRICALS LIMITED T/A PHOENIX ELECTRICALS LIMITED is seeking TWO skilled and motivated HVAC Technicians to join our growing team at GISBORNE, NEW ZEALAND. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across residential and commercial sites. The pay ranges from $35.00/- to $38.00 per hour & can be negotiated for the right candidate.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in line with industry standards and workplace safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
Identifying maintenance risks on equipment
Diagnosing faults test-operating refrigeration systems; checking mechanisms and making adjustments
Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services
Adjusting system controls; overhauling systems; repairing and replacing components
Diagnosing faults and repairing and replacing defective components
Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act
Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements
Test-operating refrigeration systems; checking mechanisms and making adjustments
Maintaining quality assurance
Requirements

Proven experience in HVAC installation, servicing, or maintenance
However, NZQF Level 4 qualification may substitute the experience requirement
Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to health and safety practices
Valid New Zealand or Overseas Driving License is required.
