Responsibilities:
• Dispense medications prescribed by physicians and ensure accuracy in drug dispensation at Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital Research Center.
• Provide detailed information to patients about their medications, including proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
• Monitor and review patients’ medication regimens, making recommendations for adjustments as needed to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement medication therapy management plans for cancer patients.
• Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed and ensure proper documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and manage medication stock to ensure availability and avoid shortages.
• Offer guidance on drug interactions and potential adverse reactions to ensure patient safety.
• Participate in patient care rounds and contribute to interdisciplinary discussions about treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families about cancer medications and self-care practices.
• Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines related to the handling and administration of medications.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized institution.
• Valid pharmacist registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in a hospital or clinical setting, preferably in oncology.
• Strong knowledge of cancer medications and treatment protocols.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex medication information clearly to patients.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing medication inventories and records.
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams and contribute to patient care plans.
