Overview:
Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) – Truck and Transport (HET) Journeyperson
Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Schedule: 10+ Hours per day, 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week
Location: +175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB

Requirements:
Full Complement of Hand Tools
Personal Reliable Vehicle
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Valid Driver’s License
Pre-employment:
Drug and ******* testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Fitness to Work Assessment
Heavy Equipment Technician (HET or HDM) – Truck and Transport Qualifications:
Journeyperson HET – Truck and Transport
Engine Rebuild and Performance Software Experience is Required
CVIP Certification is Beneficial
Power Train Experience is Beneficial
Experience with Electronics and Emissions is Beneficial
Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED
Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport (HET or HDM) Responsibilities:
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
