About the Role
The Healthcare Assistant plays a key supporting role within our rural general practice, working alongside clinicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. This position involves assisting with a range of clinical and administrative tasks such as preparing patients for consultations, performing basic observations, supporting health promotion activities, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. As part of a close-knit, multidisciplinary team, the Healthcare Assistant contributes to improving access, efficiency, and overall patient experience, while providing compassionate care to our enrolled patients.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The South Taranaki Rural Health General Practice, located at Hāwera Hospital, is a modern service run by a team of senior skilled clinicians such as general practitioners, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, and rural/urgent care doctors. We aim to provide a welcoming, safe environment for all with a focus on equity and patient-centred care.

About you
Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 is preferred
Experience working in a healthcare or primary care setting is preferred
