Health & Safety Skills Coach
Job Description
The role will also require you to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application in the workplace with employers.
You will support learners in gaining key skills within their workplace. The role will provide advice and guidance to both the apprentice and the employer to ensure the apprentice is meeting all the key requirements.
Key Activities:
Manage a caseload of apprentices
Monitor the health, safety and welfare of apprentices.
Provide end to end information, advice and guidance on skills development, Final Assessment and career development
Monitor and record progress against the Standard to ensure apprentices are developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required prior to their planned end dates
Conduct regular documented progress reviews with apprentices and their employers as per funding rules
Monitor apprentice off-the-job records
Complete any funding/MIS documentation such as Breaks in Learning, withdrawals on a timely basis
Plan and complete assessments of apprentice’s knowledge, skills and behaviours development, and build subsequent action plans for improvement where required
Deliver training workshops on specific health & safety subjects
Use coaching methods in partnership with employers, to help apprentices develop and apply knowledge, skills and behaviours in their workplace
Build and maintain relationships with apprentices and their employers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration ensuring that apprentices complete their apprenticeship within the planned duration
Provide regular caseload progress updates to the Leadership Team
Collaborate with colleagues to identify repeat and new business.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Minimum L2 in English & Maths
Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (eg NEBOSH General Certificate)
Recognised teaching qualification, or willing to gain this.
An active member of their professional network
Desirable:
Functional Skills Level 2 / GCSE's or equivalent in Maths and English grade C or above.
Recognised coaching qualification
Digital training qualifications relevant to education. For example, Microsoft Learn badges.
Recognised Assessor qualification, such as A1 or Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or willing to gain this.
CPD Courses (eg from Education & Training Foundation) in Pedagogy skills.

The successful applicant will be required to promptly complete training relating to safeguarding and prevent and is expected to undertake ongoing training in relation to children’s safety and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will be expected to maintain our safeguarding culture and contribute to it by supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead and safeguarding team. The successful applicant will be required to adhere to our Code of Conduct and share our commitment to the welfare of children.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
