Job Description

Why Join Us:

At eShepherd, we’re transforming livestock management with smart virtual fencing technology that gives farmers more freedom, flexibility, and insight.

We are in a high-growth phase, meaning you’ll have the chance to shape strategy, enter new markets, and solve real-world challenges every day.

You’ll experience the energy of a startup combined with the stability of Gallagher, a global leader trusted for nearly 85 years. Our purpose - Protect what matters most - guides everything we do, from innovating technology to supporting our people and communities.

Who Thrives Here:

You’ll succeed if you embrace progress over perfection, see change as fuel for innovation, and enjoy creating scalable solutions with real-world impact. People who thrive here are curious, practical, and collaborative, and they combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

You will particularly enjoy:

Rolling up your sleeves to turn ideas into action.

Collaborating across teams to solve complex problems.

Contributing to a fast-growing global business with meaningful outcomes for farmers.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you’ll lead eShepherd’s global partnership ecosystem, working with both Specialist Partners and the wider organisations that influence technology adoption in each region. You’ll identify the right partners, negotiate agreements, and build simple, scalable ways for them to succeed with our technology. This includes clear enablement tools and training, strong cross team collaboration, and ongoing monitoring to refine what works.

You will build relationships with the organisations that influence adoption in each market, such as government agencies, NGOs, banks and research institutions, and develop collaboration approaches that support growth.

Your leadership and relationship building skills will be essential as you work with diverse stakeholders and guide cross functional teams in a fast paced, high growth environment. Your blend of strategic thinking and practical execution will help us build strong relationships, lift partner capability, and create a scalable approach that accelerates global growth.

You will focus on:

Identifying, negotiating and onboarding Specialist Partners in key markets and setting them up for early success

Creating simple and scalable enablement tools, training and performance dashboards

Working closely with teams across Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Legal, Operations and Regional Leads to ensure partners have the support and information they need

Monitoring partner performance, identifying strengths and improvement areas, and using insights to refine how we work together

Building relationships with the organisations that influence adoption in each market to support growth and expand our reach

Your efforts will help us understand what partners need to succeed and strengthen how we collaborate over time. This is a chance to build something that lasts while staying connected to the people and teams who rely on it every day.

What You’ll Bring:

We’re looking for someone with significant experience in strategic partnerships, channel development, or business development roles, ideally within agri-tech, SaaS, or other technology-driven industries. You should have a strong commercial acumen, a proven ability to scale partnership programs globally, and experience engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Comfort working in fast-paced, growth-phase environments and willingness to travel extensively are also essential.

You’ll bring:

10+ years’ experience in strategic partnerships or business development.

Proven success designing and operationalising global partnership programs.

Leadership experience influencing cross-functional teams.

Strong commercial negotiation skills and stakeholder management.

Nice to haves:

Experience in agri-tech or related sectors.

Exposure to SaaS or hardware/software integration.

Additional languages or international market experience.

Benefits We Offer:

Joining eShepherd means you’ll enjoy competitive salary and performance-based incentives, career growth opportunities, and the excitement of a high-growth startup backed by Gallagher’s stability.

Additional perks include:

Tools and tech of the trade

KiwiSaver contributions to support your future

Boost App membership and staff discounts

Life & Disability Insurance

Hamilton site free parking, subsidised on-site café

Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing initiatives.

Supportive team culture – we value collaboration and practical problem-solving.

Don’t meet every requirement? We know talent comes in many forms. If you’re excited by this role and believe you can make an impact, we want to hear from you.

Not the right fit? Join our talent pool to stay connected—new opportunities are always emerging as we scale globally.

Start the year strong – we’ll begin reviewing applications after 5 January. Submit your application now, and we’ll be in touch from mid-January 2026
