One of the leading Real Estate organizations is looking to hire a seasoned and strategic Head Legal to lead the organizations end-to-end legal function.
The role requires an experienced legal professional with strong expertise across real estate transactions, due diligence, litigation, contracts, RERA compliance, land matters, regulatory frameworks, and corporate legal management.
The ideal candidate should have a strong mix of experience across reputed law firms and real estate corporates.
The position demands a commercially driven legal leader capable of partnering with business teams while ensuring legal risk mitigation and regulatory compliance across projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the complete legal function for the organization across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Handle end-to-end legal due diligence for land acquisition, joint development agreements, development management agreements, and project transactions.
Draft, vet, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of legal documents including:
- Land agreements
- Development agreements
- Construction contracts
- Vendor and consultant agreements
- Lease and sale documentation
- Customer agreements
- Manage litigation matters across civil, criminal, consumer, arbitration, and regulatory forums.
- Oversee all matters related to Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), approvals, compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Coordinate with external counsels, law firms, government authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide strategic legal advice to management on risk assessment, project structuring, and business expansion.
- Ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws, company law, land laws, municipal regulations, and other statutory frameworks.
- Support business teams during acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and high-value negotiations.
- Build internal legal processes, governance standards, and compliance frameworks.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- LLB / LLM from a reputed institution.
- 12-20 years of experience in Legal functions with significant exposure to Real Estate law.
Strong experience in:
- Due diligence
- Land acquisition
- Contracts management
- Litigation
- RERA
- Regulatory and compliance matters
- Prior experience working with both reputed law firms and real estate developers/corporates will be highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Karnataka land laws and regulatory ecosystem will be an advantage.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Background:
- Candidates from leading Real Estate developers, infrastructure companies, or reputed legal firms advising real estate clients will be preferred.
- Knowledge of written and spoken Kannada Language is mandatory
