Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Hardware Architect / Senior Hardware Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware design and development of complex electronic systems. The role involves hardware architecture, PCB design oversight, component engineering, validation, compliance, cross-functional coordination, and mentoring hardware teams across automotive, industrial, power, and connected device domains.
Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Architecture & System Design
• Define end-to-end hardware architecture covering analogue, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics
• Develop block diagrams, schematics, and design specifications for MCU/MPU, FPGA, DSP, and SoC-based systems
• Design across embedded systems, power electronics, analogue/mixed-signal, automotive electronics, industrial control, and wireless connectivity
• Establish schematic standards, design guidelines, and review checklists

PCB Design & Layout Oversight
• Lead PCB design from concept through Gerber release
• Define stack-up, impedance control, thermal management, and DFM/DFA/DFT guidelines
• Perform and review SI/PI analysis
• Review PCB layouts and approve DRC sign-off
• Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors

Component Engineering & BOM Management
• Lead component selection considering lifecycle, cost, quality, and supply-chain risks
• Own BOM creation and ECR/ECO processes
• Qualify alternate components and second sources
• Work with procurement on availability, lead times, and obsolescence management

Prototyping, Bring-Up & Validation
• Lead board bring-up, debugging, DVT and PVT builds
• Perform bench testing using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers, and power analysers
• Develop and execute Hardware Verification Plans
• Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Define Functional Circuit Test strategies and fixtures

Compliance, Safety & Quality
• Ensure compliance to IPC, IEC, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL, CE, RoHS, REACH, and BIS standards
• Drive DFMEA, MTBF analysis, derating, and reliability practices
• Support EMC/EMI pre-compliance and certification testing
• Maintain design documentation and quality records

Project & Program Management
• Own hardware development schedules, milestones, risks, and budgets
• Track NRE, prototype, tooling, and BOM costs
• Interface with customers and program managers on technical scope and changes
• Prepare design reviews, gate review documents, and technical proposals

Team Leadership & Mentoring
• Lead and mentor hardware engineers and PCB designers
• Conduct schematic, layout, and design reviews
• Drive continuous improvement and technical excellence
• Support hiring, interviews, and onboarding

Cross-Functional & Customer Collaboration
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Act as hardware technical interface for customers
• Coordinate with EMS/ODM partners for NPI and production ramp-up
• Support RFQs, feasibility studies, and cost estimation

Technical Skills:
• EDA tools: Altium, OrCAD/Allegro, PADS, KiCad
• Simulation: SPICE, SI/PI analysis tools
• MCUs/MPUs: ARM Cortex, STM32, NXP, Renesas, TI, ESP32
• Protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, LIN, RS-485, USB, Ethernet, PCIe
• Test equipment: DSO/MSO, logic analysers, VNAs, power analysers
• BOM and PLM/PDM systems

Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Team-oriented leadership and customer focus

Preferred / Added Advantage:
• Functional safety (ISO 26262 / IEC 61508) experience
• AUTOSAR exposure
• FPGA and hardware-software co-design knowledge
• Medical or aerospace electronics exposure
• FCT/ICT testing experience
• IPC / TV / PMP certifications
• Experience in ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / AS9100 organizations

Educational Qualification:
B.E. / B.Tech in EEE, ECE, Instrumentation or equivalent

M.E. / M.Tech is preferred

Minimum 2+ years in a senior or lead role with End-to-end product development experience from concept to production Exposure to at least two domains: embedded systems, industrial automation, automotive electronics, power electronics, IoT, consumer or medical electronics
